I'm ending promotion on this behemoth, and letting it glide on its own fumes for a while, so that I can hop on to the next "creative project" (right after I finish sifting it out from the others and dusting it off). Although I'm all out of breath, and leaving the doc to the whimsy of the winds, adding your voice to the billowing gusts might help it to stay aloft and go the distance. This earnest documentary explores the artistic mind, attempting to unveil the secrets behind the creative drive, through a detailed examination of comic books and those who self-publish them. In discovering the appeal comic books (an art form that has not traditionally been considered "art") a bright light is shed on all independent creators, whether they work in graphic novels, film, music, or basket weaving. Includes interviews with Kevin Eastman (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Wendy Pini (Elfquest), Eric Powell (The Goon), Robert Williams (Zap!), Craig Thompson (Blankets), and nearly two dozen other comic book creators. --------- "NEWS"... --------- ...is a bit of a stretch of terminology when referring to what really just amounts to an overview of where the documentary has been, and what I've done while along for the ride. Small, yet substantial, screenings; and great opportunities to visit with long lost friends and family. --------- REVIEWS... --------- ...have been minimal, given the number of DVDs I've sent out, but what's been said has been overwhelmingly positive, and satisfyingly accurate.
