Spring, 2006 vol.4.0.2006 Hey, Folks. CLOSING TIME is in Portland, Baltimore, and Seattle in the next two months. Check out the dates and info below, and please pass this on to anyone else in the areas who you think may be interested. If any of you can make it out, I'd love to see ya. More rambling follows, further below: Maryland Film Festival Saturday, May 13th - 9:30 p.m. The Charles Theater 1711 North Charles Street Baltimore, Maryland http://www.mdfilmfest.com/2006/venues.ht Forest Film Festival (Portland, OR) Friday, May 19th - 9 p.m. The Clinton Street Theater http://www.forestfilm.com/shows.htm Seattle International Film Festival May 25th - June 18th (screening dates n/a until May 11th) http://www.seattlefilm.org/festival/prelaunch.aspx?FID=13 So, if you're interested, CLOSING TIME has been doing pretty well on the festival circuit, having just played in Florida, Phoenix, Crossroads, East Lansing, Longbaugh, ALICE, Malibu, and Palm Beach in the last month, alone; and won Best Short Film at Longbaugh. I feel like going into detail about all of the cool folks I've been meeting at these festivals, but that would make this email waaaay too long, and I suspect only my mother cares for that much detail. So, if you folks I've met along the road are reading this, you know who you are, and I'm thinking of you. :-) A BIG "thank you" to everyone who voted in the various on-line festivals with which I've been involved. Your party affiliation has been noted, and a cabinet position has been reserved for each of you in my future governmental body. Those of you who did not vote needn't fear reprisals; we are a benevolent and magnanimous kingdom. CLOSING TIME does have three distribution deals lined up, but the SAG contracts don't currently allow it, and the actors union is really dragging out the process. There is also now a feature script based upon the short film being written...and I'd be doing so, now, if not for the information in the following paragraph. AN IMPORTANT NOTE TO ANYONE WITH WHOM I HAVE PENDING EMAIL EXCHANGES: My main computer terminal (the laptop) has died, and I do not have easy access to my backlog of email, so if there is a pending conversation between us, please allow three to six weeks for delivery. This modern life is on hold until I can get my issues (computer issues, that is) resolved. Interested parties may visit www.myspace.com/chrisbrandtfilm for occasional updates and tidbits. So...thanks, again, folks for your continued kindnesses and friendlinesses. I continue to regret my inability to write such a detailed accounting in a personal email to each and every one of you...but you know that, right? With Eternal Warm Regards, Chris Brandt Want to receive this crap in your email inbox? Send me a note... |
