I was born a few years before the middle of the last half of the twentieth century. I grew up in Maryland, Ethiopia, the U.S.S.R., The Philippine Islands, and Egypt, in that order. I attended three high schools (Cairo American College - CAC, Centennial, and Glenelg), two colleges (University of Maryland at College Park and University of California at Santa Cruz), and have held plenty of "crappy" jobs, my favorite of which was stocking shelves at Zanotto's Grocery in Santa Cruz. Anyone from my past most likely knows me as Chris Brandt, as I adopted FC Brandt in 1993 as a pen name under the inspiration of such famous initializers as M.C. Escher, V.C. Andrews, C.S. Lewis and P.T. Barnum.

I once dated (and by "once", I mean "once") Rich Hall's sister. Jessica, I think it was. It was a while ago...highschool. She was cute, and I would have liked to have seen her more outside of school, but apparently I didn't do it for her. Eh.

For this "bio", I struggle for coming up with pertinent and non-salacious information from my life that would be of general interest, and further wrestle with putting those incidents into words. So, I will update this area as things occur to me. It's mostly just here for search engines, but if you can think of something I should add, I'm happy to consider your recommendations.
